Ride & Stride

Ride+Stride is a sponsored bike ride or walk in which people all over England walk or cycle between churches, exploring and enjoying the countryside from Cornwall to Northumberland.

The money they raise helps to save historic churches, chapels and meeting houses for future generations by helping to fund urgent repairs and the installation of modern facilities. Each year the event raises over £1 million pounds to help fund urgent repairs to historic churches and chapels.

Leicestershire Historic Churches Trust organise the Leicestershire Ride & Stride and our Church were very fortunate to receive a grant towards our current redevelopment project.

Carpenter's Arms - 10 year Celebration

Carpenters Arms, a Christian Rehabilitation Centre have been transforming lives for the past 10 years.  The Carpenters Arms is a Christian rehabilitation residential programme for men aged 18-65 and challenged with homelessness due to an addictive lifestyle.  The Carpenters Arms and our Church have supported each other over the last 10 years and we were privileged to attend their 10 year anniversary celebration.

After the speeches from The Right Honourable Nicky Morgan MP,  Bryan Spence and the Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Brenda Seaton,  a couple of the residents, Adam and Jim gave their testimony and then Stuart read an extremely powerful poem about saying goodbye to his addiction.

Our love and prayers go to both the residents and staff as they continue their journey.
